Deputy Manager and Named Training and Competency Officer (NTCO)

 

About the Role

Applications are sought for a keen and enthusiastic person to undertake the role of Deputy Biological Services Unit Manager for one facility and Named Training and Competency Officer across all facilities. The role supports the BSU Manager in day-to-day activities to enable the smooth running and delivery of an efficient service to research staff. In addition, the post holder will also lead on the delivery of training and competency provision in line with departmental objectives.

About You

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the field of animal technology and Animals Scientific Procedures Act legislation and demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of animal health and welfare. In addition have demonstrated ability to communicate well and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

About the Department

The BSU’s serve the research needs of multiple faculties at QMUL as part of Professional Services.

The facilities prioritise welfare whilst providing resources for a variety of projects.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an expected start date of 19th December 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £40,386 -£47,414 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
