Are you an experienced and influential academic with the proven ability to carry out teaching and research in International Business and related topics? Do you have an excellent research track record and the vision and drive to tackle new challenges? Are you passionate about delivering world leading research and an exceptional student experience?

As Associate Professor, you will carry out research, teaching and management within Leeds University Business School (LUBS) and contribute to academic leadership in the field of international business and management.

The International Business Department at LUBS is an established and internationally esteemed centre of excellence for scholarly research work and teaching in international business. Under the leadership of its professors, the International Business Department is making great strides in its research performance and exhibits considerable strength and depth. It is one of the leading centres of International Business learning and teaching in the world and offers specialised degree programmes that combine high academic standards with practical application in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Academics in the International Business Department provide cutting edge research-informed teaching by bringing their world-leading research and practice expertise into the classroom.

The International Business Department is home to the Centre for International Business at the University of Leeds (CIBUL), one of the world’s premier scholarly centres for international business and at the forefront of academia and practice. Research development is divided into five main thematic areas, focused especially on the regions of China, India and Southeast Asia:

  • The determinants and impact of foreign direct investment (FDI);
  • The strategy of Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) and countries, MNEs impact on home and host country productivity and competitiveness;
  • Global innovation; international entrepreneurship, digital economy, born global firms, internationalization and performance of SMEs;
  • Global grand challenges, sustainable practices of MNEs, international migration, global value chains, and global health;
  • Cross-cultural management, diversity, and inclusion, MNE and local governance.

Leeds University Business School is internationally renowned for the quality of its teaching and its research. Our work covers the full spectrum of business disciplines, teaching undergraduate, masters and doctoral students and creating new knowledge through research. We place a premium on international levels of scholarship and research excellence. We seek to appoint one Associate Professor in the field of international business and management. We are particularly interested in candidates specialising in the areas of International Management, MNE Subsidiaries, Global Value Chains, Global Leadership and Governance, and International Entrepreneurship and global challenges such as climate change, migration and health, in their link to the themes.
