About The Job

The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is accepting applications for Computer Operator II. Duties include operating the enterprise print and mainframe environment. Managing the enterprise scheduling platform. Providing service desk functions such as request routing, escalation, and working with after-hours support. Monitoring of the County’s enterprise systems, servers, and data center.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Pre-Employment Process:

Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.

 

  • Work Hours:
Incumbents are required to be available to work ALL SHIFTS, which includes day, swing, night, rotating, weekends, and holidays. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working evening and night shifts. For more details, refer to the MOU .
  • Physical Requirements:

Duties may involve lifting up to fifty (50) pounds; bending, stooping, and kneeling.

 

  • Sponsorship:

Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Successful candidates will need to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Nine (9) semester (14 quarter) units of accredited college-level coursework in data processing, computer operations, programming or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted if a degree has not been conferred.

Education Substitution : Possession of a Systems Z certificate or Microsoft Server Certificate may substitute for the required education. A legible copy of the Systems Z or Microsoft Server certificate must be submitted by attaching it to your application.
