  • The Editor of Time Out Abu Dhabi will primarily be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for the overall production, execution and management of Time Out Abu Dhabi across digital, print, video and social products and platforms.
  • Editing, proofing and publishing Time Out Abu Dhabi’s daily digital content, ensuring stories are on brand, on time and contribute to daily content quotas and audience targets.
  • Leading the ideation and development of creative front covers across Time Out Abu Dhabi’s stable of monthly and seasonal print products.
  • Work with other Editors within the Group to make sure goals and projects are aligned, and maintain a strong working relationship with the commercial team.
  • Build and maintain an editorial calendar across digital, print, video, audio and social.
  • Meeting web traffic and print circulation goals.
  • Overseeing Time Out Abu Dhabi’s annual Awards processes.
  • Work with the Editorial Director to ensure ALL content reflects overall content / editorial strategy.
  • Determine what medium is best suited for a particular content piece and commission internal and/or external writers, producers, designers, photographers, videographers, illustrators, product managers, etc. to make it live on deadline and on budget.
  • Ensure Time Out GCC’s editorial standards are met, all relevant copyrights have been cleared, content is optimized for SEO and content meets local and legal guidelines.
  • Support the Group Editor, Editorial Director and sales team by being an ambassador for Time Out Abu Dhabi by supporting and helping to develop revenue-generating content strategies and establishing good relationships PRs.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the local scene; use your professional contacts and social-media networks to be the first to identify the next big thing.
  • Undertake reviews and attend events outside of office hours.
  • Embrace Time Out GCC’s digital-first philosophy. A strong background in digital publishing is essential.

  • Excellent knowledge of WordPress
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO best practice
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and PowerPoint is desirable
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
