• Monitor and assess situations
• Develop measures for the safety of personnel
• Correct any unsafe acts or conditions and stay aware of developing situations
• Create, review and implement plan of action
• Lead planning meetings
• Investigate what occurs within incident areas
• Conduct meetings about health and safety protocols
• Approve all safety plans
• Verify injury logs
• Health and safety officers may also verify that all tools and equipment used in the workplace are safe for employees to use.
• Promote safe practices at the job site
• Enforce safety guidelines
• Conduct investigations
• Analyze the hazards of a job
• Respond to safety concerns
