Science Project Coordinator
Permanent and Full Time (37 hours per week)
Based at our Wallingford site, hybrid working available, with up to 2 days working from home.
Interviews: will be in person, at Wallingford on Mon, 12th December 2022
We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Science Project Coordinator. You will support the coordination, monitoring and delivery, of several research projects and programmes.
An important part of the role will be to understand the purpose of the projects and to have enthusiasm for the research you will be assisting.
We are keen to meet individuals interested in a career in Project Management, as there will be many opportunities to grow your skills whilst working at UKCEH.
Main Responsibilities
- Routine project office duties, liaising with the Project Manager to understand weekly/daily priorities
- Booking meetings, note taking and dissemination of minutes and tracking actions
- Production of reports for a variety of stakeholders
- Organise workshops and events, source/book venues and catering. Booking associated travel, accommodation, and other meeting requirements within defined budgets
- Support finance activities such as procurement, tracking assets of major procurement, running pre-defined finance reports
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Relevant work experience is essential
- Ability to manage and monitor multiple priorities daily
- Ability to manage and monitor budget spend
- Work independently, managing your own time effectively to deliver long and short-term tasks to agreed deadlines
- Flexibility to take on different tasks from a variety of projects and people, and keen to develop new skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in the planning and delivery of meetings and events, managing budget and third-party suppliers
- Proficient with MS Teams, Zoom, IT systems such as the O365 suite and social media platforms such as Twitter
- Ability to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas
Desirable Skills
- Educated to degree level
- Knowledge of one or more project management related methodologies
- Experience of developing websites and databases
