This is your chance to join the Business School at a transformational stage of its growth, and to contribute to the ongoing success of its staff and students. To support this exciting strategic initiative, the Business School is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Business.

As a specialist in Business, the post holder will have the capacity to teach across a range of Business disciplines and sub-disciplines including contribution to teaching on Research Methods at UG and PG Levels. Candidates should be at the forefront of their discipline and should be able to inspire students and colleagues alike with enthusiasm for their subject area.

Although all areas of business specialism will be considered, we are need of experts in Business analysis, Business Operations and Data analytics, Business strategy, Entrepreneurship & Innovation and applicants who can offer these specialisms are particularly encouraged to apply.

The post-holder will be expected, amongst other things to:

  • Use appropriate learning, teaching, support, and assessment methods to deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Actively contribute to academic research (for example through publication in peer reviewed journals)
  • Act as personal tutor, giving first-line support and mentoring to students
  • Prepare teaching materials and contribute to the design of curricula
  • Supervise dissertations/Major projects and students on placements or live projects
  • Contribute to income generation activities e.g., through KTPs and executive education.

Applicants must

  • Hold a higher degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject
  • Hold a teaching qualification or preparedness to work towards one
  • Have a PhD or be in the final (viva) stages of completion
  • Demonstrate excellent teaching experience in higher education or have presented regularly to professional audiences in an industry setting
  • Have relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrate the potential for successful publication in ranked journals.
