Lecturer In Global Development- Global Political Economy (Teaching And Scholarship)

 

The University of Manchester seeks to appoint a one-year fixed term Lecturer in Global Development (Teaching and Scholarship) within the Global Development Institute (GDI). This post has arisen through a Leverhulme Fellowship grant to Prof Tim Jacoby. The appointment will contribute to the GDI’s teaching capacity in global development within the broad area of global political economy. The successful candidate will be attached to the Social Development cluster within the GDI and contribute to teaching in one or more of the following areas related to global political economy: globalisation, trade and industry, work and employment, and global inequalities. The successful candidate will also be part of one or more of GDI’s seven research groups.

Applications are welcomed from appropriately qualified candidates in all areas of global development, but particularly from candidates with a track record of high-quality teaching on issues related to the global political economy of development, including in areas related to globalization, trade, industry, and labour in the Global South. Prior experience of relevant postgraduate and/or undergraduate teaching will be expected.

Interviews are expected to take place November-December 2022.
