We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Lecturer in Jewellery & Metal Design within DJCAD. This is a permanent appointment.

You will contribute to the development of the teaching and research/ scholarship agendas, philosophy, and strategies of the institution. Possessing considerable knowledge of the subject domain, you should be a team player, as well as demonstrating commitment and drive. You will enable students to develop and enhance their capacity to nurture their creative development and understanding in Jewellery and Metal Design as a core practice, and to engage at an international level with peers in industry and Higher Education. You will be expected to support the strategic development of the core discipline.

Who we are looking for:

• A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area or an undergraduate degree along with extensive academic or industry experience.

• Extensive knowledge of theory and practice in Jewellery & Metal Design
• A good understanding of student learning needs and the ability to plan challenging and innovative learning activities at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
• Understanding of the issues surrounding contemporary Jewellery & Metal Design, employability requirements of the industry and the global challenges faced by the sector.
• Experience of teaching in a Higher Education environment, preferably at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
