Job Description

Mechanical design engineers create, develop and test products such as machines, tools and sensors. They solve problems by applying the principles of physics, chemistry and mechanics to the real world. They also collect data on prototype performance and supervise the manufacturing process for their designs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform Mechanical calculations of pressure vessels and heat exchangers in accordance with ASME codes.
  • Knowledge of ASME sect. VIII div.1 and 2
  • Perform calculation of minor structural components like saddles, skirt, anchor bolts, lifting lugs, small frame
  • Perform evaluation of localized stresses on components for imposed loads utilizing WRC 297/537.
  • Interact with ASME Authorized Inspector and customer’s inspectors.
  • Attend Kick-off and Pre-Inspection meetings.
  • Guide technically CAD drafters.
  • Redaction of material specifications for material purchasing
  • Support the manufacturing department during fabrication as necessary
  • Support project management on technical aspects
  • Timely resolution of technical doubts by effectively communicating with counterparts and peers on the EMEAI and global organization.
  • Collect shop feedback to improve the engineering deliverables to optimize the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate external engineering activities

Job Requirements:

  • Academic degree in mechanical or Chemical engineering
  • Relevant experience in mechanical design of Shell & Tube heat exchangers or pressure vessels.
  • Familiar with international ASME VIII div.1, div.2 and eventually other ASME standards
  • Familiar with ARAMCO specifications for pressure vessels design.
  • Proficient in English
  • Operating proficiency and experience in software for pressure vessel design like COMPRESS, PVElite and good use of drafting tools (Autocad preferred).
  • Good knowledge of international standards (API 660, API 663 and TEMA)
  • Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication processes
  • Good understanding on different materials as per American standards.
  • Good communication skill to interact with customer, Manufacturer, Inspection agencies & consultants.
