Description:

The Mechanical Foreman directs other maintenance personnel in performing skilled mechanical, welding, and plumber work in support of the overall plant operation and in maintaining the operation of the plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant production requirements. Reports to Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Takes an active role in working with maintenance personnel, supervising people in the field, and coordinating assigned activities with maintenance personnel.
• Follows up and checks on assigned activities throughout the shift to ensure all work assignments are completed correctly and as requested.
• Advises and helps complete work that has become difficult or complicated beyond normal repairs.
• Sets up and pre-stages parts from the warehouse and helps in finding and retrieving parts from the warehouse to expedite work.
• Completes reports to the Daily Log
• Ensures that all time worked is recorded on completed work orders.
• Remains on the job until another crew leader or technician has arrived and a turn-over of activities and information has been accomplished, with equipment updates and availability information passed on after the shift.
• Considering the lead position, a “working” position, the lead person expects to not only direct the crew’s assignments but to also participate as part of the crew.
• Communicates and demonstrates safe work practices on all jobs.
• Ensures that all job assignment work areas are cleaned of used parts, debris, and tools upon completion of work.
• Conduct Risk identification/analysis/assessments
• Complies with all National and Local Electrical Codes, completing professional works.
• Attend Incident investigation/reporting
• Assist in the development and deployment of HSE initiatives
• Reports promptly any breaches of HSE procedures to management
• Actively participates in and promotes company health, safety & environmental campaigns, initiatives, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent certifications
• HSE accredited training qualifications
• Must have at least 5 years as a Mechanical Foreman preferably in a power industry
• Familiar with HSE standards, procedures, and requirements of electrical plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be knowledgeable in using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and windows-related software.
• Middle East Experience is preferrable

• Technical Expertise: Practical knowledge of processes and practices in own functional area
