PATIENT REGISTRATION PORTER Job in Windsor, ON | Windsor Regional Hospital
Description:
Under the direction of the Guest Services Coordinator or designate, the Patient Registration Porter while working in a team environment, will transfer patients and their personal belongings to the appropriate accommodations, transport patients to and from Diagnostic areas, patient floors and other clinical areas. The Patient Registration Porter assists nursing with patient transfers, assists nursing departments with all nursing transfers, clean and sterilize patient stretchers wheelchairs etc. Performs a variety of non-technical duties within the department including maintaining adequate level of supplies and carrying out other duties as may be assigned within the scope of their areas of responsibility and all other duties as assigned by management. The Patient Registration Porter complies with Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
Job Requirements:
Ability to read, write and follow instructions in English – required
Manual dexterity, motor coordination and physical strength – required
Demonstrate knowledge of the operation and care of patient transport equipment – preferred
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification –preferred
Demonstrate ability to attain Crisis Intervention Training and Code White certificate – required
Demonstrate knowledge of proper body mechanics for lifting, transporting and ambulating patients – required
Display an interest in perform in multi-related jobs and demonstrate good judgment and problem solving ability – required.
Previous patient care experience-preferred;
Ability to work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach;
General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position – required Grade 12, or GED Certificate
