Research Assistant in Mental Health Service Communication

Description:

Are you a researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in ethnography or mental health care? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?

This is an opportunity to work with Professor Stephen Coleman to observe and evaluate sensitive conversations about ethnic inequalities in mental health provision. The work will involve ethnographic observation and the design of resources to encourage open, inclusive and meaningful interpersonal and institutional communication practices.

Your main duties will include: using communication ethnography to collect and analyse the research data as directed – this will include collaborating closely with the PI and external partners, including mental health service users, classifying and storing data from communication events, keeping in mind the importance of confidentiality, working with the Principal Investigator to ensure that the study is meeting its planned milestones and is producing meaningful outputs, contributing to the research culture of the School, where appropriate and maintaining your own continuing professional development, where appropriate.
