Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

The Department is seeking to appoint TWO Research Associates in palaeoglaciology to work on landform mapping from Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), GIS analysis, and ice sheet reconstruction. They will work on the PalGlac project; Palaeoglaciological advances to understand Earth’s ice sheets by landform analysis, funded by an ERC Advanced Grant (2018-2024; £2 million) led by Professor Chris Clark.

You will have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant subject area. We seek to appoint people with a background in palaeoglaciology and Quaternary science, with an interest in mapping glacial landforms from digital elevation models. Previous experience of and/or an affinity for GIS and ice sheet reconstruction or modeling is an advantage.

You will benefit from being part of the PalGlac team (@palglac) comprising five academic staff, two other postdoctoral researchers and four PhD students, and an international network of collaborators/project partners.The position is based in Sheffield and you will work with PalGlac palaeoglaciologists Chris Clark, Anna Hughes (at Univ. Manchester), Jeremy Ely, and Stephen Livingstone
