Role Overview:

As the Sales Director at Kempinski Hotels in Dubai, you will spearhead and inspire the Sales Leisure team, driving the achievement and surpassing of the yearly sales budget. You will be responsible for upholding the management standards and quality guidelines set by the EAM i/c Sales & Marketing. In the EAM’s absence, you will assume full management responsibility for all departmental activities, aligning with the hotel’s mission, vision, and objectives. Your leadership style should be guiding, team-oriented, democratic, and empowering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Commercial Director with the preparation of the annual revenue and expense budget.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Director to establish and oversee the organization’s financial, administrative, and operational procedures to meet revenue and expense targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of administrative documents, including sales call schedules, sales call reports, and monthly sales team reports.
  • Set sales targets, personal sales plans, and incentives for all Sales personnel.
  • Develop and implement strategies to lead an effective Sales team.
  • Review weekly sales reports from the sales team and present them to the Commercial Director.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and ensure timely follow-up with sales team members.
  • Work closely with sales team members to set and review personal sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, providing end-of-month reports and analysis.
  • Substitute for the Commercial Director during their absence.
  • Communicate and promote the company sales vision.
  • Encourage cross-selling of Kempinski Hotels with all sales colleagues.
  • Manage the Leisure Segment and ensure prompt responses to all inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Kempinski Sales Offices.
  • Oversee site inspections at the Hotel.
  • Stay informed about market trends and consult the Commercial Director for urgent actions.
  • Execute duties, projects, and assignments as required by the Commercial Director.
  • Adhere to and communicate fire, health, safety, emergency, and security procedures.
  • Attend international fairs and road shows to build and maintain relationships.
  • Provide consistent guidance and support to team members.
  • Foster organizational commitment by maintaining team morale, motivation, and loyalty.
  • Identify new trends, recruit, and develop talent in collaboration with the Commercial Director.
  • Prioritize tasks, develop managerial strategies, and implement tracking methods for effectiveness.
  • Set performance standards, link budget to performance, report results, and hold the sales team accountable.
  • Serve as a role model in work-life balance, time management, guest engagement, and quality work.
  • Analyze sales team performance to enhance effectiveness and address improvement areas.
  • Recognize and celebrate team achievements.
  • Ensure regular and effective communication with Global Sales Offices.
  • Monitor sales and marketing results and propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Optimize the use of automated sales and reservations systems for group business.
  • Supervise lead follow-ups to maintain relationships and generate leads.
  • Maintain comprehensive files for corporate, group, and travel trade accounts with significant room/night potential.
  • Enhance reservation center efficiency and coordinate updates with the Reservations Manager.
  • Explore and distribute information on market developments and competitor activities.
  • Propose ideas for promotional materials and oversee group and individual reservation requests.
  • Set corporate rates for various accounts and collaborate with local and international customers.
  • Cascade key information to the Sales & Marketing team and update customers on hotel developments.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and collaborate with other department heads to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Manage and prepare for participation in trade shows, fairs, exhibitions, and other business events.
  • Oversee group and travel agency rate quotations and ensure communication with Kempinski Global Sales Offices.

  • Ensure the Sales team meets revenue targets.
  • Meet personal objectives and satisfy the Commercial Director through performance reviews and competencies.
