Job: The Senior Advising Coordinator facilitates the processes underpinning the student journey at Middlesex University Dubai and prioritizes student engagement in all aspects of the student experience. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all students have access to a range of support appropriate to their needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Specialist Student Advice: Providing professional advice and guidance to students seeking support with academic advice, finance and scholarship issues; information and advice on policies and procedures.
  • Service Quality: Facilitate effective service delivery to students, develop appropriate tools to evaluate service quality and provide key performance and management data.
  • Service Capacity Building: Facilitate the reshaping of services to enable the teams to build capacity to meet increasing student demand, initiate new services and modes of support and adapt to the changing academic context and learning framework
  • Student Success: Work with colleagues in faculties and professional services to help deliver cross-functional projects, policies, guidance etc. that promote student retention and success
  • Student Case Management: Successfully handle complex student problems and write responses to internal and external information requests by working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies (eg. KHDA).
Requirements:
  • Relevant UG qualification
  • Related and appropriate practical experience in a University environment
  • Experience in facilitating business processes, using information technology and management information to inform decisions (desirable)
  • Knowledge of UK and UAE government policies in education, the QAA Quality Code, external agency and legislative requirements
  • Understanding the importance of monitoring and tracking processes and accountability
