If you have administrative experience and an understanding of Health and Safety requirements, then this could be the job for you.

As Associate Technician, you will provide administrative support and lab support for HSC at Southend or Colchester (or both). HSC students spend part of their studies practicing their clinical skills in simulated conditions in the skills labs before and during undertaking clinical placements.

This position can be based at either our Southend or Colchester campus on a full-time basis with part-time hours being considered also.

Duties of the Role 

This is a varied role that provides administrative support and lab support for the School of Health and Social Care and in this role, you will:

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that labs are maintained to the standard
  • Maintain the skills labs, ensuring the labs are clean, laundry is changed, and that equipment and educational materials are in safe working order for use
  • Keep an inventory of equipment and supplies, order equipment and supplies
  • Prepare equipment for classes and clinical examinations, organise, and prepare rooms for meetings, examinations, presentations, and teaching

About you

To be successful, you will need to have:

  • HNC or equivalent experience
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • An understanding of Health and Safety requirements and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills

This position will sit within the professional services team and our professional services staff are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department, supporting the delivery of our teaching and our research.
