As a Senior Coastal Engineer, you will be working on a number of coastal maritime engineering projects throughout the Middle East. A committed and motivated engineer exhibiting strong technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion. You will be responsible for the design and coordination of coastal and maritime infrastructure – responsible for the preparation of coastal engineering calculations, design drawings, design reports, specifications, tender documents and tender evaluations. You will be expected to coach junior engineers in technical aspects of coastal engineering.

Experience of the following is preferable:
  • Leading teams to deliver coastal engineering designs
  • Coastal structures design (beaches, groynes, breakwaters, revetments, scour protection, dredging and reclamation, concrete armour protection)
  • Waterfront development master plans, beaches and edge protection
  • Marina layout and design
  • Marine edge structures design (quay walls, piles, jetties)
  • Familiar with numerical modelling of coastal processes (wave transformation and penetration, hydrodynamics and sediment transport)
  • Familiar with CFD and physical modelling
  • Vessel navigation and mooring studies
  • Management of marine projects and design teams
  • Technical proposal preparation
  • Good confident communication, with good writing and presentation skills
  • Strong client facing skills

 

 Here’s What You’ll Need: 

As a successful candidate you will be degree qualified from a recognized university in an appropriate field (Civil, Marine, Coastal, Ocean Engineering, or similar), as well as having 7-15+ years of experience operating as a Coastal Engineer. Experience of working in the Middle East is advantageous as well as being a qualified member of a recognized institution or organization (to include but not necessarily be limited to ICE, IMarEST, APM, RICS, CIOB, AIA, RIBA).
