About the job

Job purpose

  • Provide necessary support to ensure the correct development, management, and improvement of the Project HSE Management System throughout the phases of the project.
  • Supervise properly implementing HSE Management System according to the Company and project specific HSE guidelines and standards.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary support to ensure that all construction activities carried out by Company and Subcontractors are conducted in strict accordance with the Client HSE Requirements, applicable local legislation, International Standards
  • Preparation of project HSE documentation
  • Revision of Subcontractor HSE documentation
  • Providing recommendations for improving the HSE performances
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing effectiveness of the HSE Plans/System and propose improvement actions.
  • Performing joint site visits / checks and investigations of accidents and incidents
  • Coordination and supervision of precautionary and preventive measures
  • Analyses of accidents and identification of corrective actions
  • Liaising with the HSE representatives of Client and subcontractors to solve any HSE issue.
  • Participation in construction meetings with the Client and the other contractors
  • Performance of Site HSE audits
  • Assuring the HSE information/communication down/up from site to HSE dept. at HQ level thorough the HSE Project Manager
  • Leading Risk Assessment review workshops
  • Ensure Project HSE training and Induction programs implementation at site level.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering or Science or HSE discipline (from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees in the country of issue)
  • NEBOSH GC or equivalent
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in HSE in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects / operations in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries, with at least 5 years’ experience in a lead HSE position managing team of HSE professionals.
  • Evidence of previous experience of working in ADNOC projects.
  • Records of previous ADNOC approval for working on ADNOC projects
  • Experience in offshore oil & gas projects will provide added value.

Skills And Competencies

  • Able to lead a team of HSE professionals such as HSE Engineers, HSE officers.
  • Sound understanding of the HSE Management System and HSE legislative requirements.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in risk assessments and audit processes
  • Able to develop and implement annual HSE plans.
  • Competency in ADNOC PTW system and gas testing
  • Awareness in H2S and Breathing apparatus.
  • Good level of knowledge of ADNOC HSE procedures
  • Ability to analyze incidents and apply root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ability to develop emergency response procedures/plans.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English with good communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills

Training and Certifications

  • Lead auditor ISO 45001/ISO 14001
  • Incident investigation technique
  • ADNOC PTW system training course
  • Any further HSE Training/Certification will provide added value.
