The Tax and Statutory Reporting Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient tax planning, reporting, and compliance for all entities of EY in the UAE.

Responsibilities

* Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in UAE taxation laws, regulations, and policies.
* Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns (VAT, Corporate Tax, ESR) in compliance with UAE tax laws and regulations.
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper documentation and reporting of tax-related transactions.
* Preparation of statutory financial statements and related audit schedules
* Liaising with internal and external auditors with respect to financial audits/ICV audits and coordinating with other parts of Finance and Business to provide audit requirements
* Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and completion of financial statement audits and ICV audits
* Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related compliance requirements.
* Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their impact on the organization, and recommend necessary adjustments.
* Respond to tax authorities’ inquiries, notices, and audits, and assist in resolving any tax-related issues.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tax compliance efforts.

Requirement

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.  Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) preferred
* In-depth knowledge of UAE tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
* Proficiency in relevant accounting software
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
* Prior experience in liaising with tax authorities and handling tax audits is a plus
